i held off on doing this for ages because of silly reasons to do with accuracy and completism. but i suppose calling it a 'masterlist of posted fic', rather than simply a 'fic masterlist', resolves the main issues. still difficult to resist the urge to list and link every single fic meme fill, though. -_-;; |

| first single off the new Kent album |

never mind whether it's silly of Kent to insist that they won't chop it down for radio. (actually, the first time i listened to it i did feel that it went on a bit, but now i'm quite happy with its length.) just listen to it.
ahh, spring.
speaking of which, will be overseas for two weeks from saturday, so my already-rare comments will be non-existent. i can't wait to be somewhere with seasons again. |

i just received the most heartbreaking and amazing twins-centric Kimi to Boku fic for yuletide, and. ahhhhhhh. so many emotions!
yuuki was my favourite character at first, but yuuta took that place after several manga volumes of development, and this fic basically elaborates upon every heartbreaking yuuta moment in canon. the twins' relationship is one of my favourite parts of the series, and i love how this fic takes it to one logical conclusion.
i could go on for ages, but sadly, none of you is into Kimi to Boku. ._. but here is the fic, all the same:
not where it starts, but where it ends

edit: not just that, someone wrote University of Cambridge anthropomorfic. SCREAMS. |

from acanti:
List fifteen of your favorite characters from different fandoms, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, if they're so inclined.
it was surprisingly hard to think of characters. i cheated a lot by having more than one character per fandom.
1. Ginko (Mushishi) 2. Natsume (Natsume Yuujinchou) 3. Yuuki (Kimi to Boku) 4. Yuuta (Kimi to Boku) 5. Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club) 6. Kabuto (Naruto) 7. Iceland (Hetalia) 8. Utgard Loki (Matantei Loki Ragnarok) 9. Yamino (Matantei Loki Ragnarok) 10. Aya (Weiss Kreuz) 11. Youji (Weiss Kreuz) 12. Iida (Jiraishin) 13. The Major (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex version) 14. Death (Discworld) 15. Vetinari (Discworld)
some traits common to more than one of the above characters: - not having friends not being very social/outgoing - a tendency to -_- -face - being fairly asexual - being cold - liking cats
so basically, i like characters which remind me of a better/cooler version of myself. oh teh narcissism. |

i've been remiss in explaining my absences from LJ, this year, and this particular absence is likely to last a while longer. long story short: i've been on holiday on and off over the past month; i am getting ready to leave the UK for... at least a long while, if not for good; when i get to singapore, i will be busy unpacking and recovering after four years mostly away; and as such i'm unlikely to catch up flist-wise until early september. at which point i begin indentured servitude.
take care, you guys. see you in september. |

| actually listening to new albums, wow |
[. , |: m] |
it has been ages, but here's a music post. i am not up to writing tempting descriptions of the songs, sadly.
The Weakerthans - Leash the weakerthans with a little bit more of an edge. if you haven't listened to the weakerthans before... you should? they have songs from the point of view of a housecat! a song entitled "Our Retired Explorer (Dines With Michel Foucault In Paris, 1961)"!
The Notwist - Good Lies i like the notwist because they are kind of like electronica with a soul? i feel that most of their songs are quiet and melancholic without being wallow-y.
Erik Hassle - Stay Away Erik Hassle - Arrows bought this album (mariefred sessions) because it was a collab with kent, haha. the english lyrics are hilariously awkward (or just hilarious) in parts, and the album on the whole is so poppy that it hurts (at least to me, since i haven't listened to pop music in ages). but i guess it's the sort of pop i can get behind? i really like the first song; the second song is the least poppy one on the album, whiiich should give you an idea of what the rest is like. |
